Fall is in the Air

As the cooler air drifts so do the fall activities from evening fires, to leaf lined mountain bike trails --- from bright and green colors of summer to the harvest orange colors of fall....I do love this time of year...I especially like building fires in the cool fall evenings. I cleaned out the firepit late last week and we are ready for our evening fires.....roasting hot dogs, marshmallows and making s'mores ... and maybe drinking a couple adult beverages....our cats always loved to come visit when the fire was rolling...we'll see if Wilma still has her fondness for fire.

Well, it has been a while since I have posted... a lot going on.... I have been out of town quite a bit since being back from Seattle, preparing for guests...Kecia was here last weekend and we look forward to Ellen and Lani visiting next week...but not until after my trip to Chicago, don't get too excited all work no play. Speaking of work, we have pretty much decided to take a pass on the Seattle opportunity....while it is a beautiful city it simply crazy expensive to live there after living in the midwest for so long...to uproot everything here just did not make sense at this time.

Belated Thoughts on Seattle

Yes, it has been quite a while since we have returned from Seattle and I have yet to type one single word or post a single picture of our test drive of the city. Maybe since things are still in limbo, maybe because the trip makes the decision that much harder...it would have been easy if we would have went there had horrible weather, saw horrible sights and came home never wanting to go back....but of course that was not the case. I absolutely love the area, we started out in Port Townsend with the familiarity of our favority bnb, favorite beach and witnessed the wonderful sight of the fog rolling in from Fort Warden. Friday we headed back to Seattle met up with Dji to start the official Seattle tour....the weather was PERFECT....here we are at Salty's enjoying happy hour strategizing our weekend to see as much as possible.....what we found was very expensive houses, yes I know it is not California but it is not Ohio either, we are very lucky here to have very reasonable priced real estate. So it would be quite a change to go from our 5 acres and lots of space to a smaller house with a much smaller yard with 2-3xs the price tag. But then again the area was lovely....all the water, the mountains, the views, the dog parks.....everything seemed a little slower, a little more laid back much much more relaxed....a very bike friendly city....all good things. We really like the area and there are only a few drawbacks but they are big ones...so so far away from family and friends....but if everything falls in place perhaps we'll make the move...but the timing may just not be right - we are ready for a new adventure and it may just be right around the corner....here are a fwe quick shots from around town.......
