A Night of Fire....

With the redsox indians game in the background, saturday night's entertainment centered around our first fire of the season...the weather has finally turned cooler making a picture perfect atmosphere for a weekend fire....as the sun faded we started up the flames...deb and kelly arrived and we cooked a few hot dogs and made s'mores...and then eric, brian and amy joined the party. After a few more marshmellows....we cranked up the heat adding wood from the junk pile and really get the fire rolling.....we stayed out with the fire and our friends until early into Sunday morning with eric helping us shut down close to 2am...we put out the fire but I watched the red coals dance from the second floor bedroom window until 6 o'clock in the morning....i so so love crisp fall evenings with friend and a fire..... next weekend???

Here is a nice spooky halloween style picture of kim and her brother brian...and of course miss wilma..

close up of the wood...I like the black and white of the log....

The pallet....this really got things rolling......

Kim enjoying the heat of our blaze.....bet those tennis shoes off to the right could start smoken' at any minute.....

This is a funny picture of a hot dog and the fire in the background.....doesn't it look like the hotdog is on fire????

Lastly, a group shot Deb, Me, Brian and Kelly...........

HAPPY BIRTHDAY>>>a few days late

The big 3-0, I bet everyone remembers that day in their life.....really you do, just admit it...mine is forever emblazed in my mind as my wonderful mother decided to send a backwoods hill billy singing telegram guy to my office....and of course everyone was expecting him...luckily i was tipped off and had a clue something was going down....it was terrible....i luckily was not having any issues with turning 3o but now due to mr backwoods i will never ever forget the embarassment of that day....who remembers mr backwoods? kim? heather? leonard? it was bad!!! So where did this topic come from? Well, this week Leonard celebrated his 30th birthday...

wow, what a year to remember...turning 30 is just another day given the gifts he has already received this year.....let's review...last spring a beautiful wedding to his loving wife Heather:

and most recently the arrival of their first son Alexander....

who could ask for a better birthday presents....congratulations Leonard, welcome to the world Alexander and Heather, to you...GOOD LUCK!!

Now, it's your turn tell...leave me a comment and tell me a story of one of your big birthdays...ok it doesn't have to be 30, but may 16 or 21...oh those could be scary.....anyway....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEONARD!!!

BTW -- maybe Heather can tell us why Leonard is alone in the top picture...keeping with the theme it was SOMEONE's birthday!!! oh the memories...... love you both...wait a minute all three of you.

busy times with friends.........

So many things going on and not a lot of time to sit down and put it in writing.....let's see as I previously mentioned we are not moving to Seattle but are looking to potentially move locally...and yes everyone is asking why? why sell your house, it has space, is new and you just moved in type questions...we really want something old, with old school character and a place to continue to build our lives together....even if it is not in the cards we have had fun looking at house..boy o boy the things we have seen in some older houses...what else? Last week..I visited one of my favorite cities...chicago...for a three day stint...was there for work so it wasn't quite the same without kim and the chicago gang...but I still got to walk around michigan avenue, become very familiar with the red and orange lines between the watertower and mccormick place and midway...gotta love the CTA..can you say $2, $2, $2.....

I got home on Friday in time to catch up with Kim and Ellen...Ellen arrived in town from Little Rock....we met Lani for dinner at PF Changs. Saturday we helped Lani out in the morning at the BATA Symposium and then came home -- did a little creating -- and then Kim, Ellen and me went to Kim's brother Brian's 43rd birthday celebration....it was a great night, chilly but nothing the fire couldn't take care of..bud light, friends and a fire...who could ask for anything else???? Sunday we hit Byzantium with Ellen and showed her around downtown Columbus before her flight back to Little Rock.

Very busy weekend...but it doesn't slow down.. downtime this week but a lot of household projects are calling my name to get this house officially "on the market" -- our neighbors that own the grain farm across the street are having their annual pig roast on Saturday that benefits the cancer society..the farmers wife is a cancer survivor...next week I'm off to Maysville, KY for work and before we know it -- our trip to Wisconsin and Valley Ridge will be right around the corner....Kim is taking a Lynn Perrella class with Laura, Jane and Beth we will then meet up with trish for tootfest three...I hope to spend the first couple days exploring kettle morraine...it is a bit of a drive from Valley Ridge but it sounds worth it!! of all things i am excited to use my new I-Pass on the toll roads in chicago....

have i missed anything....the only thing i can think of is a coil bracelet class kim and I took a few weekends ago....here are our finished products...kim's is orange and mine is the other one...
